HIGH WYCOMBE, UK — Focusrite has announced the release of the ISA C8X, a 26-in, 28-out USB-C audio interface that marks the first-ever integration of its classic ISA analog preamplifiers directly into a flagship desktop interface.
The ISA C8X is available for pre-order immediately, priced at £1,899.00.
Pristine Conversion Meets Heritage Preamps
Designed as a high-fidelity hub for modern recording and hybrid routing setups, the ISA C8X features 24-bit/192kHz conversion across its extensive channel count. The centerpiece of the interface is its preamp design: of its eight digitally controlled inputs, two feature dedicated ISA preamps equipped with original Lundahl LL1538 transformers. These two channels deliver up to 79dB of analog gain, switchable impedance, balanced inserts, and switchable analog Console and 430 Air modes.
Flexible I/O and Advanced Monitoring
The ISA C8X is built to accommodate complex routing setups. Up to 16 channels of digital expandability are available via ADAT I/O, allowing studios to scale their input count using external converters. For monitoring, the hardware boasts 12 balanced line outputs, split into three monitor groups, enabling seamless switching between stereo configurations and full integration with immersive audio arrays up to 7.1.4. Dual independent headphone outputs are also built directly into the front panel.
Digital Control and Premium Software Bundles
Users can remote-control gains, routing, and channel parameters via the Focusrite Control 2 app on desktop or mobile. Every unit ships with Focusrite’s Hitmaker Expansion software bundle and Oxford Reverb. For advanced mixing, buyers can purchase optional software upgrade bundles (ISA Essentials or ISA Elite) to unlock premium Sonnox Oxford EQ, Dynamics, and Drum Gate plug-ins.
